I get so many compliments on my Brinley Vestige!
This was my early Christmas/Hanukkah present to myself and I am just THRILLED with this purse. I have no remorse. (I initially wanted the cream + brown Brinley "Bronte" color when it was available, but I hemmed and hawed too long, wondering if I would be sorry since I don't have a lot of brown clothes. I wear a lot of black (or black in combination with other colors) and the "Vestige" finish goes beautifully with black attire (as well as with brown), so I like that; it is clearly a neutral in that regard. The purse looks wonderful when I'm dressed up for work, but it also works well for a casual evening, like for going out to dinner and the movies. Random women have stopped me and gushed, "That is SUCH a beautiful purse!" (I tell them, "Go the Brahmin.com." And then I spell it out for them.) Honestly, it is just an extremely classy looking and elegant bag, kind of like the quintessential classic Kelly bag. I am am 5'7" and full-figured and I wear the strap long. I tried the strap short, but for me, the long strap looks the best. As someone who owns a Finley and a Lincoln (as well as probably over ten old Brahmin Addisons or Addies, since I wore those for possibly 20 years!), I have to admit that the Brinley style is not quite as easy to get into and out of as the Finley or Lincoln. The SLIGHT issue that you will notice---and only possible downside to the Brinley---is that it has that flap. This means that you have to twist the clasp and lift the flap to get into the purse, while with the Finley and Lincoln, you can just reach right in there directly. But the clasp and flap are integral parts and key to the charm and cuteness of the Brinley purse, so I wouldn't want those features to not be there. I am here to say, that the flap and clasp are WORTH IT on the stylishness scale. (Also, since there is an outside pocket on the backside, I can grab my cell phone without having to unclasp the clap and lift the flap, so that's helpful. Here's another consideration. When I wear my gigantic Finley or Lincoln, I can mindlessly carry boatloads of materials/files/junk, but now that I am using my Brinley, I do need to frequently reevaluate what's in there and sort out superfluous items. My right shoulder thanks me.Read LessThis was my early Christmas/Hanukkah present to myself and I am just THRILLED with this purse. I have no remorse. Just got this for my daughter for Christmas; I'm sure she's going to love it. It's an absolutely gorgeous bag. Structure and clean lines are outstanding and I love the turn lock closure. Wish it came in the same dimensions as a Finley. I would have to have one of every color.......................
