WEB FRONT END DEVELOPER

Summary of Position: Brahmin Leather Works is seeking a Front End Developer who works closely with the web designer translating mock-ups into code. Requires a firm understanding of backend technologies in order to know the best approach for producing the desired end result. This role is the bridge between the creative team and the core developers.

Location: Fairhaven, MA

Major Functions:

  • Translate static design content into responsive templates/assets.
  • Design, code, test and maintain website content for desktop & mobile including homepages, landing pages, category banners, and new content assets.
  • Work with web merchant on linking products, manage website click maps and content scheduling on Demandware/Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform.
  • Troubleshoot front-end site functionality problems.
  • Perform web design in technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Photoshop; Zmags Creator experience a plus.
  • Research & introduce best practices for responsive design for implementation on website.
  • Provide technical support to merchandisers, marketing, and creative team while effectively communicating ideas/solution between both technical and non-technical people.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Demandware platform experience is a MUST with strong knowledge of responsive design

Summary of Position: As part of an in-house creative team, the Copywriter will be responsible for the world of brand copywriting. Responsible for developing marketing and product copy for customer experiences and channels that reflect the brand’s fashion sensibility, personality, voice and positioning. You will work closely with the visual, marketing, design, and direct to consumer teams to make sure your efforts, align with overarching business strategy, and perform effectively.

Major Functions:

  • Write clear, persuasive and on-brand copy for all brand needs. This includes consumer facing and internal B2B facing materials.
  • Take the existing voice standards for Brahmin and further develop and uphold the voice of the brand – across all marketing touch points. Innovate ways to engage our audience and build our brand through words.
  • With greatest attention to the ecommerce site:
    • Write irresistible must-open subject lines, powerful CTAs, clever headlines, and meticulously crafted marketing and ad copy—proven by motivating customers to purchase and engage with the brand.
    • Write informational and functional site copy for BRAHMIN.com while injecting the Brahmin voice.
    • Generate non-product copy for other areas of BRAHMIN.com (editorial, philanthropy, about, etc.)
    • Write product video/ content scripts and ideates on topics
  • Contribute on-brand ideas for campaigns, catalogs and other messaging:
    • Work with social media team to develop copy and content including blog posts.
    • Engage with agency and internal team to develop copy for all product launches – includes concept, headline and product copy
    • Write brand press releases working in conjunction with the Marketing Communications Specialist
  • Proofread materials for direct to consumer, merchandising, and marketing to develop brand experiences.
  • Stay abreast of trends in the marketplace, and within the style world in general to write relevant content.

Summary of Position: Under limited supervision from the Director of Planning, this position is responsible for developing department store sales plans to ensure the growth of our business is profitable while maintaining corporate goals. This position is accountable for ensuring all accounts are meeting their individual sales, receipt, markdown and margin goals through constant analysis and communication with the sales team.

Major Functions:

  • Develop seasonal store plans and topline sales plans for department stores.
  • Monitor and report weekly sales and stock to determine trend and recommend action.
  • Analyze and review weekly and monthly style selling reports with Sales and Product Development and recommend best seller reorders and identify weak styles.
  • Conduct location analysis by region and volume group to identify sales opportunities.
  • Develop in season forecast of sales, markdowns, margin and turn and recommend strategies to drive the business.
  • Partner with Account Executives on Open To Buy and recommend allocation of product by door based on current trends to ensure all goals are being met. Review and monitor weekly.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required: A Bachelor’s Degree in business, along with 2 plus years of experience in retail planning or buying is typically required. Thorough knowledge of retail math is also required. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, takes pride in accuracy, ability to view things in a different perspective and able to independently organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential in the optimum performance of this position.

  • Create designs and develop product to meet seasonal plans and market success.
  • Develop concepts reflecting seasonal fashion trends utilizing boards, tear sheets, samples and presentations.
  • Partner with creative team to refine seasonal concept, materials, hardware, and color palette.
  • Responsible for researching trends, ideation of new concepts and creating compelling products to meet the brand aesthetic.
  • Identify potential production, quality, and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations to ensure brand integrity and uphold design intent while maintaining best cost.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required: Four year college degree in fashion design, 5-7 years of related design experience. Strong understanding of materials, hardware, leather, and handbag construction is required. Must have strong working knowledge of CAD design applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of fashion and market trends with an understanding of Brahmin product image and quality. Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and a close attention to detail. Luxury brand experience is a plus.
