INVENTORY CONTROL ANALYST

Summary of Position: Inventory analysts' primary duties consist of understanding a company's inventory situation and making recommendations to improve that situation. Involved in this primary task is a great deal of studying. Inventory analysts consider everything from a company's previous inventory reports to national purchasing trends. However, inventory analysts have a variety of other subsequent duties. They may be tasked with some management duties as they direct buyers and stockroom workers. They may also be asked to draft reports or create and handle inventory databases.

Major Functions:

  • Drive the financial success of Brahmin stores through the creation and execution of effective allocation strategies that align with sales, margin and inventory goals.
  • Responsible for publishing inventory results and communication with management regarding results.
  • Analyze historical and current sales trend data to identify risks and opportunities by location.
  • Create strategic initial seasonal inventory allocation plans and effectively manage replenishment needs at the store level.
  • Monitor and adjust replenishment settings where needed taking into account weeks of supply and target in stocks.
  • Work with planning team to align on order and shipment forecast to reconcile to OTB.
  • Develop, execute, and communicate transfers from inline to outlet stores.
  • Proactively manage store inventory levels, business needs and capacity constraints.
  • Analyze selling to capitalize on style, category and store level opportunities.
  • Communicate store level sales performance, inventory productivity and action plans in weekly cross-functional business review meetings.
  • Partner with merchant and planner to ensure core businesses are in stock to meet and/or exceed sales plan.
  • Manage all aspects of new store opening inventory levels through forecasting sales/stock needs, and reconciling orders/model stock loads to forecast.
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices and maximize system/process knowledge.
  • Validate the accuracy of product transferred from facility to facility.
  • Work to insure accurate and timely reconciliations occur.
  • Report, monitor and review daily inventory adjustments and changes.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years retail experience as an Allocation or Distribution Analyst.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Advanced Computer skills; highly proficient in Excel.
  • Quantitative background with strong mathematical skills.
  • Project management, strong written and verbal communication skills.

PLANNER

Summary of Position: Under limited supervision from the Director of Planning, this position is responsible for developing department store sales plans to ensure the growth of our business is profitable while maintaining corporate goals. This position is accountable for ensuring all accounts are meeting their individual sales, receipt, markdown and margin goals through constant analysis and communication with the sales team.

Location: Fairhaven, MA

Major Functions:

  • Develop seasonal store plans and topline sales plans for department stores.
  • Monitor and report weekly sales and stock to determine trend and recommend action.
  • Analyze and review weekly and monthly style selling reports with Sales and Product Development and recommend best seller reorders and identify weak styles.
  • Conduct location analysis by region and volume group to identify sales opportunities.
  • Develop in season forecast of sales, markdowns, margin and turn and recommend strategies to drive the business.
  • Partner with Account Executives on Open To Buy and recommend allocation of product by door based on current trends to ensure all goals are being met. Review and monitor weekly.
  • Review Market orders for accuracy, flow, and assortment. Partner with Account Executive on recommended changes.
  • Hindsight each season thoroughly to insure missed opportunities are addressed in future assortments.
  • Create and maintain inventory flow of basic products to support stock models.
  • Collaborate with Production to ensure current inventory flow meets the need of sales trends.
  • Interact with Account Executive, Product Development and Design to understand demand forecast drivers.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required: A Bachelor’s Degree in business, along with 2 plus years of experience in retail planning or buying is typically required. Thorough knowledge of retail math is also required. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, takes pride in accuracy, ability to view things in a different perspective and able to independently organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential in the optimum performance of this position.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST

Summary of Position: The Business Systems Analyst will help manage the activities related to specification, design, development, documentation, testing and implementation. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with a proven track record of successful innovation within a dynamic team environment. Some experience in the use, development, or management of ERP, WMS, and/or PLM applications is desirable.

Major Functions:

  • Provide detailed analysis, design, and documentation of program logic, data files, screens and report layouts through user contact, goal analysis, feasibility determinations, logic design, systems flowcharts, resource evaluations, cost and time analysis, and detailed program specifications.
  • Lead assigned projects from inception through delivery with emphasis on delivering a high quality deliverable in alignment with the agreed to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Work with programmers through the development of enhancements and lead the QA process.
  • Develop testing methods and test data. Perform unit and system testing, resolving errors. Demonstrate system and obtain user approvals.
  • Document present procedures, analyze requirements and recommend improvements in Brahmin’s use of technology.
  • Research system issues in effort to identify root causes in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Respond to all support requests in a timely, professional and quality manner.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience within IT field.
  • Understanding of databases and experience working with SQL or database reporting systems and query tools.
  • Proven Program Management experience.
  • Strong communications skills and ability to collaborate well with 3rd Party providers.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate well to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Independent self-motivated individual able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment interacting with and possibly leading multiple teams.

Summary of Position: With direction from the Manager of Design, collaborates to create proprietary product designs or refreshes existing product that reflects Brahmin’s design philosophy, quality guidelines and inspires targeted consumers.

Major Functions:

  • Create designs and develop product to meet seasonal plans and market success.
  • Develop concepts reflecting seasonal fashion trends utilizing boards, tear sheets, samples and presentations.
  • Partner with creative team to refine seasonal concept, materials, hardware, and color palette.
  • Responsible for researching trends, ideation of new concepts and creating compelling products to meet the brand aesthetic.
  • Identify potential production, quality, and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations to ensure brand integrity and uphold design intent while maintaining best cost.
  • Responsible for developing technical specifications.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required: Four year college degree in fashion design, 5-7 years of related design experience. Strong understanding of materials, hardware, leather, and handbag construction is required. Must have strong working knowledge of CAD design applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of fashion and market trends with an understanding of Brahmin product image and quality. Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and a close attention to detail. Luxury brand experience is a plus.
