MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR

Department: Retail

Summary of Position: The role of the Merchandise Coordinator for Brahmin is to maximize Brahmin's sales in the assigned doors by ensuring that Brahmin's goods are presented in the best locations and merchandised according to guidelines. This is a permanent part-time field position throughout major cities in the US.

Major Functions:

  • Maximize sales in assigned doors by ensuring Brahmin's goods are presented in the best locations and merchandised according to guidelines
  • Providing before and after photos and a brief recap for each visit
  • Locating and filling in stock
  • Informing management of any opportunities, challenges or customer requests in a weekly manner
  • Ensuring mark downs are taken
  • Developing positive relationships with store associates

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required: Candidates must have some merchandising experience preferably in major department stores, be fashion forward, possess attention to detail and be able to communicate in a professional manner.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Department: Marketing

Summary of Position: Reporting to the CMO, the Marketing Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the marketing strategy to meet organizational objectives. Evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitive data, recommends and implements the marketing plan. Works with the sales team to identify customers’ current and future needs and develops marketing plans to meet those needs.

Major Functions:

  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Responsible for collecting data, applying appropriate quantitative methods and drawing valid conclusions for complex marketing analysis projects. This includes the design, development, execution, documentation, quality assurance activities, and maintenance of database processes as well as one-time project specific ad-hoc requests.
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Determines annual and gross-margin plans by forecasting and developing annual sales plans; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results as well as establishing pricing strategies.
  • Develops annual marketing plan in conjunction with sales department, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting organizational objectives.
  • Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs and merchandising policies to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Drive the development and execution of all category-related PR initiatives, including efforts to secure and leverage positive product reviews and awards.
  • Manage marketing communications initiatives for effectiveness and determine the best ways to optimize future efforts
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and prepares appropriate marketing activity reports.

Education, Knowledge, Training Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing required, MBA preferred, 7 to 10 yrs of consumer marketing experience, a proven track record of thought leadership and action, ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, changing environment; Excellent collaboration skills, with a team-oriented mentality, Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to support business decisions. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution, effective verbal and written communications are required. Retail industry experience is preferred; Fashion industry experience a plus.
